There are three types of questions asked in the Verbal section — Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction, and Critical Reasoning. Let’s look at each of them in a bit more detail below:

Reading Comprehension

In the reading comprehension question, you are given a passage on any topic and questions based on the topic. While answering the questions ensure that you understand what is being asked. Obtain information from the given passage and don’t make assumptions. Before choosing the answer make sure to read all the given options carefully.

Sentence Correction

These questions have a part of the sentence underlined and you have to select an option to rephrase the underlined portion. You are given five options to replace the original sentence. The correct answer is the one that is clear, concise, and doesn’t have any grammatical errors. While answering you have to carefully evaluate all the choices before you proceed to select the correct answer.

Critical Reasoning

In the critical reasoning section of the GMAT Verbal, you are asked to read a short argument and then answer questions related to the same. You have to find an answer option that either strengthens or weakens the argument. You can make an assumption about the argument or make inferences yourself.

We trust that you gained a clear picture of the Verbal section. There are various study materials available online as well as books to help you practice these questions.

All the Best!

What Student Loan Servicers Quitting Means For Consumers

Published

on

You may have heard recently about some student loan servicers quitting. If you have outstanding student loans, you might wonder what that means for you as a consumer.

We’ll discuss that in the following article. We’ll also cover what a student loan servicer is and why so many of them are getting out of that business at the moment.

What is a Student Loan Servicer?

Student loan servicers are organizations or companies that collect payments on student loans. They also respond to customer service inquiries, process payments, maintain loan records, and so forth. If you have taken out loans to pay off debt that isn’t related to higher education, you’re not going to deal with the same companies that you would as a student borrower.

There are only a few principal companies that do student loan servicing. If you took out a government-issued student loan, your student loan servicer was probably one of the “Big Four,” which are Great Lakes, Navient, Nelnet, and FedLoan Servicing. The main nonprofit ones are OSLA, MOHELA, Granite State, Cornerstone, and HESC.

Why Are Some of Them Quitting?

Lately, you may have heard that three of the student loan servicers that handled both government-issued and private loans are getting out of the business. Those three are Navient, Granite State, and FedLoan Servicing.

According to a Navient spokesperson, these entities believe that the government was enacting policies that transferred too much risk to the servicers. The company heads thought that the terms and rates were effectively below cost to everyone.

Several of the student loan servicers believed the system caused confusion, had significant communication challenges, and lacked standardization. If you’re a consumer, though, what does it mean for you that several of these enormous entities are getting out of the business?

The Probable Impact

Three major student loan servicers dropping out of the market soon will impact nearly 10 million borrowers. However, the Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid office says that’s a positive thing. They claim that more stringent restrictions will prevent servicers from misleading borrowers about their options and harassing them.

The borrowers these changes will impact are also consumers. Many of them are now former students. They either got the college degree they sought, and now they’re a part of the job market, or dropped out, but still have to pay back their student loans.

Either way, most borrowers and the remaining student loan servicers seem optimistic about what these proposed changes mean. The servicer shuffling that will take place should streamline the loan payback process. Doing so should reduce the average consumer and borrower’s stress level moving forward.

There’s Reason for Optimism

Several student loan servicers dropping out of the market is probably not a major cause for alarm if you’re one of the nearly 10 million Americans about to be impacted. The servicers seem to resent the US Department of Education for the changes they want to make. Department of Education reps are pointing the finger back at the servicers for their harassment and poor customer service.

You do not need to concern yourself with that, though. What’s happening are likely positive developments for current or former students, but also consumers in general. That’s because once you get assigned a new student loan servicer, they will need to adhere to stricter regulations. You should have a much better grasp of how much money you need to pay back and exactly when that needs to occur.

You’ll also be able to avoid poor servicing practices, which means fewer headaches. And you can hopefully get a much more accurate overall picture of your finances. With money tight for some individuals and families right now, clarity and transparency are significant benefits.

What To Dig For While Picking an Online Academy for Education?

Online Academy for Education

Online colleges are accessible, flexible, and may help you launch a new profession or improve in an existing one. It’s getting more and harder to sort through all of the further online colleges and degree programmes that have come up in recent years as the demand for online degrees grows. In the world of online education, not all institutions are equal. As a consequence of the newness of the technology, there is no one common template for online course systems that can be used.

Several other considerations go into deciding which online degree programme is appropriate for your academic needs and goals, including the availability of your selected major. The best place to start your research is the school’s official website. Requesting further information from each online school might help you learn more about what they have to offer. Get the idea from the online Madrasa for kids.

Facility for Pre/Post-Lecture Quizzing

A simple comprehension test is the most efficient. A maximum of five questions should be used, with each question focusing on a single subject matter. The multiple-choice format is ideal and eliminates complex computations in the assessment format.  Reiterate the key concepts from the introduction content to keep it short and sweet. Students should be tested for comprehension at the beginning of a new course. Students benefit from a well-crafted assessment of whether the topic is provided in textual, visual, or audio form. Consequently, it lays the groundwork for a more in-depth understanding in the future.

How much time do you have for school?

Most online courses do not allow students to set their own pace. Deadlines will loom, as will classes, project due dates, and the progress you must demonstrate each week. You’ll also have to write more than if you were a full-time student in college. When there is no time for in-class discussion, instructors rely heavily on students’ written responses and thoughtful comments. Assume a 15-hour workweek for your class. There is no substitute for planning and organising your routine. Begin with a manageable workload. Your first class should be straightforward and easy to learn. You’ll have much of time to get used to online learning and getting back into school in general during this period of transition. You may also like to learn about the Female Quran tutors.

Are you endowed to learn digitally?

Do you have 24-hour access to a high-performance laptop or desktop? Do you have the tools that online schools require, such as Microsoft Word and Excel? Are you able to use message boards, participate in online meetings, and work with virtual teams comfortably? At start of new school year, you want to understand the topic rather than battling technology.

Are Different Difficulty Levels Accurately Measured?

When a regular classroom isn’t an option, teach pupils to focus on quality rather than quantity. Consider altering the difficulty of the evaluation questions so that students can build on what they’ve learned so far. Take your time and select objects that use visual representations of key concepts, such as graphs, charts, and other visual graphical presentations. There is nothing as too much learning, and reflection questions are a terrific approach to help pupils remember what they’ve learned. Compare-contrast, explain your argument, and prove-disprove exercises are all equally good ways to assess students’ deeper comprehension of the material.

Students’ Assistance

Learning at home necessitates quick and convenient access to resources and assistance. It’s vital to look for institutions having both technical and academic support teams so that you can get help with computer issues and make course selections for your degree programme. If you have a hectic schedule or work full-time, search for schools that offer 24-hour services so that you can get help, especially technical assistance, whenever you need it. As they have more capabilities, schools with many online programmes and graduates tend to have better support services.

Environment for Learning

Whether or not an online course is enjoyable can be determined by how well the learning environment is constructed. If you’re not a technology wizard, don’t worry: the best colleges feature online courses that are simple to use. Using their classroom technology, you may connect with your colleagues and instructor in a digital context that seems more like a real classroom. If you have a cellphone, look for institutions that offer mobile access to the digital classroom. Also, examine if the technological requirements (such as the particular computer you have at home) fit what you are seeking for in a game. Almost all of the best colleges and universities provide an online learning atmosphere that can be viewed from a wide range of devices.

Final Thoughts

Real-time evaluations and citations to the material keep students interested in the course. Student success hinges on their level of personal investment in their education. While they don’t take the role of the teacher, these extras help pupils get the most out of their education. In addition, they’re available around the clock to help kids succeed.

All You Need About The Online Classes

Online Classes

People who cannot attend lectures at the physical institution for varied purposes choose online learning. Online courses are convenient, cost-effective, and provide a wide range of educational options. Combination programs, which combine web-based learning with classroom training, are available to students who choose to learn from the comfort of their own homes. As the final word from God, the Qur’an came to our holy Prophet (PBUH) as a message of instruction for all people.

Mysteries of this planet and the afterlife sector are included in the Holy book. As Muslims, we are obligated to educate ourselves and our children about the Quran online. Our duty as Muslims is to read the Quran at least once a day for the sake of our souls. The ideal approach for your child to learn the Quran is virtual, where they may engage with other children and grow their self-confidence. Supplications and information about Islam are passed on to your children by experts in the field. Below, we’ll discuss some of the advantages that this interesting education brings to pupils.

Benefits of Online Education

Flexibility

Since they’re not bound by a fixed schedule, learners can juggle education and work. Scheduled class times are established in a classroom setting, and the student has little control over this, requiring them to arrange their calendars to fit the meeting times into their lives. Most individuals who choose eLearning have other responsibilities and appreciate this learning style because it provides them control over how they use their time.

Reduced Expenditures

The financial benefits of online education are often overlooked by potential students. Students could also save cash and effort by not having to travel. In addition to saving money on textbooks, online students can save money by purchasing digital versions of their textbooks at lower prices. Online candidates can access federal aid programs, including grants or loans, as long as they have enough courses to classify as part-time students. Most institutions allow online students to qualify for institutional help, including need-based scholarships.

Networking Opportunities

With online learning, students have the opportunity to connect with people from all around the world. As a result, there are often possibilities to collaborate with other people on a project. The contact with other cultures also makes kids more culturally aware and adapt to new situations.

Documentation

On an electronic website, you’ll have access to all the data you require. Documents such as notes from meetings, handouts, and emails fall under this category. Because these documents are accessible online, the student may get answers quickly if they have any questions. This is particularly useful when conducting analysis for a venture that requires submission abroad.

Enhanced Instructor – Student Time

In traditional classes, pupils may not receive the one-on-one focus they need to better understand their learning subjects. The number of kids in most classes is usually in the hundreds, even though classroom sizes are tiny. A characteristic of online classes, directed discussions, and one-on-one time with faculty members are standard features of this learning style. A child’s chances of success are boosted by the time their teachers devote to them. As a result, they become better problem solvers and communicators, and they learn how to explain their positions to their superiors if necessary.

Access to Expertise

Learners may be able to take advantage of specialized degree programs that aren’t offered nearby or conveniently accessible on-campus institutions of higher learning if they enroll in an online college program. As a result, more people can benefit from educational opportunities that aren’t readily available in particular geographic areas.

Improved Learning Conditions

With the opportunity to study at the house, at a coffee house, or in a library, online students can complete their schoolwork at any location. This benefit of online learning enables learners to work in the most convenient place for them to learn. People looking for an online degree or certification should look for areas with a strong internet connection and minimal distractions. Another issue to keep in mind is the amount of space required for a laptop and reference resources, since certain facilities’ tables may not have enough room.
