GMAT Verbal

There are three types of questions asked in the Verbal section — Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction, and Critical Reasoning. Let’s look at each of them in a bit more detail below:

Reading Comprehension

In the reading comprehension question, you are given a passage on any topic and questions based on the topic. While answering the questions ensure that you understand what is being asked. Obtain information from the given passage and don’t make assumptions. Before choosing the answer make sure to read all the given options carefully.

Sentence Correction

These questions have a part of the sentence underlined and you have to select an option to rephrase the underlined portion. You are given five options to replace the original sentence. The correct answer is the one that is clear, concise, and doesn’t have any grammatical errors. While answering you have to carefully evaluate all the choices before you proceed to select the correct answer.

Critical Reasoning

In the critical reasoning section of the GMAT Verbal, you are asked to read a short argument and then answer questions related to the same. You have to find an answer option that either strengthens or weakens the argument. You can make an assumption about the argument or make inferences yourself.

We trust that you gained a clear picture of the Verbal section. There are various study materials available online as well as books to help you practice these questions.

All the Best!
