Tudor Style Houses: The Essence Of Houses In America

The European settlers coming to America and other parts of the world have given us many things, including good and bad. Apart from all the other things offered by the Europeans, their architectural styles still remain one of the most important and yet recognizable traits of the colonization era.

Furthermore, we have the Tudor-style homes that the Europeans brought in in terms of architecture, but now many Arizona architects also prefer using this style.

What Are Tudor Style Houses?

Tudor-style houses have been around for many years, and it does not take much to recognize these distinct-looking houses. Tudor-style houses have been the most common house building styles adopted by the Americans mainly because of the intricate, charming, and classic features of this architectural style.

Furthermore, many unique elements define these houses, such as their rich history among Arizona architects and others around America. Other people in the US also choose to build their dream houses of exteriors with bricks and stones with the help of this great masonry tuckpointing in Washington DC.

History Of Tudor Style Houses

The name Tudor probably rings a bell in the heads of most history fanatics among us. We say so because the Tudor-style houses are called so as they were prevalent in Europe during the reign of Henry Tudor VIII. Such dwellings are widely known for blending the characteristics and methodologies of two different eras: the Renaissance and the Medieval period.

Back in the late 1800s, many architects from Europe traveled to the Americas and exported this style with them. Over the years, the early 20th century witnessed a peak demand for these houses as they became highly popular among Americans. Very soon Tudor style houses became a symbol for financially stable families.

However, after World War II, all of that began to change as the colonial-styled house began to gain more popularity. Nonetheless, Tudor-style homes can still be found in many places across both Europe and America.

Features Of Tudor Style Houses

The best thing about Tudor-style houses is that all of these houses have their unique defining characteristics. Most commonly, a Tudor-style abode will feature a steep roof along with a partial or fully covered exterior with bricks, stonework, and even masonry.

On top of that, these houses feature the unique touch of medieval architecture with truly remarkable glass windows, making them one of the defining characteristics of Tudor-style houses.

Whenever one has the opportunity to visit or live in these Tudor-style houses, one will notice that these houses are equipped with various decorations accompanied by highly beautiful and intricate stonework.

Many Arizona architects use gables for Tudor-style houses as they are visually appealing in terms of design and texture. The ultimate defining characteristic of Tudor-style homes is the chimney on the top of the roof of these houses. Furthermore, the windows found in Tudor-style houses are often rectangular and clumped together.

Concluding Thoughts

Tudor-style houses still look very appealing, and many people living in both Europe and America still love living in this type of house. These houses represent a different era, and living in one of these houses is like traveling back in time to the 17th and 18th centuries. So, if you’re into retro-looking houses, you know where to go!
