Replicated Series Rockwheatleysiliconangle: Replicated is a company that helps software makers with the installation of apps on their own servers.

Replicated, which sells tools that help software makers create and deploy on-premises versions of their applications, raises $50M Series C led by Owl Rock.

The round adds to Replicated’s growing coffers; it has raised more than $100M since founding in 2012. The latest round brings the startup’s total capital raised to $116M.

Replicated has now raised three major funding rounds since its founding, which began in 2012. The startup’s latest raise is a Series C that takes Replicated to more than $100M in total funding; it also follows a $25M Series B completed in 2016.

The startup sells software that helps developers easily create and deploy their own server-based versions of their applications, rather than offering a SaaS product.

Replicated has yet to make a profit, said CEO George Garrick, although it should “very soon”. It has “hundreds” of customers paying anywhere from $400 to $15,000 per month for the service.

The seed round was led by Menlo Ventures with participation from Benchmark, Harrison Metal Capital and First Round. The round also included an existing investor in Replicated, as well as a new investor in the form of Owl Rock.

Garrick started Replicated with the idea for the company after he was a partner at A11yTech, which helped build an Enterprise version of a tool that lets developers improve accessibility to their apps.

“The thing that gets me most excited about this is my experience building A11yTech,” Garrick said in an interview at  SoftTech VC ’s SCALE conference  last year. “That was the hardest thing I’ve ever done professionally.”

In a conversation with  VentureBeat ,  Garrick said that Replicated’s biggest differentiator from other enterprise software and SAAS providers is its ability to help users easily replicate the existing working code.

“If you’re a small company and you need to serve customers in China, you don’t want to get locked into a deal with some big vendor doing billing services,” Garrick said.
