Have Your Goals

When it comes to trade show booths, it’s vital that you figure out your target and have your goals in mind.

Determine whether you’re trying to attract new customers, impress the current, or want to establish your brand. These will also determine your trade show space design as well.

Have a Schedule

Even if you have a small staff, you can still make great use of the space. Come up with a schedule in order to have at least one person at the booth at all times. Empty booths aren’t a good impression for your company. 

Have a Theme

Your theme will create a connection between your company and your potential customers. This allows you to have more space within the display for information to be shown.

Have the theme match something about your company. Whether it’s showing off your latest products, designs, or philosophy, the theme should match your company. 

Your color design needs to match your theme as well. Booths with a good color scheme will make links between your expo booth.

Since people love interactive ideas, you can do this for your booth. Instead of having a screen that they stare at, have interactions that they can participate in. 

Consider different trade show games that’ll allow them to win a prize at the end. Use touch screen technology that features product demos for customers to get involved in. 

Don’t Use Too Much Negative Space

Too much negative space will look bad, and so will too little. Instead of having each nook and cranny filled, make sure that it’s inviting and clean. This will make sure that the customers will feel comfortable interacting with you and your workers. 

For the negative space, have it within your graphics. Negative space will prevent different designs from burying your brand. Overcluttering can lead to a negative impact on your business. 

Think About the Feeling

Think about the feeling that you want people to experience as they look at your trade show display.

The importance of a design is figuring out what feelings or moods that you want people to feel. This can inspire the themes, props, and engagement of the booth overall.

Consider Trade Show Trends

Take a look at different trade show exhibit trends in order to inspire you. When you know what’s going on across the industry, it can help to inspire your booth. 

When you’re aware of what’s popular it can give you ideas for graphics, materials, space, etc. This can guide you in the design of your booth to strike a certain emotion. 

Messaging at Eye Level

Branding and logos should be kept at eye level. Have them in multiple areas of your booth to instill the design.

If you have designs below eye level, they won’t be seen or read. Incorporate end caps as well in order to make sure that people can see your company from all sides.

Use Lighting

Don’t be a company that cuts costs by skipping lighting displays. Lighting can have a positive impact on your design and can be inexpensive. When you have lighting, you’re more likely to grab the attention of those who are walking by. 

Promote Before the Event

Before the event, it’s a good idea to make use of direct mail campaigns and web banner ads. Let others know about the event by using social media. 

Use social media to create excitement about your booth at the next event. Have photos displaying different products that you’ll have, as well as a raffle basket for them to win a prize. Share the location of the booth as well as photos before the event. 

Choosing Your Team

When you have your trade show booth team set up, make sure that they’re not sitting on their laptops or phones. If they need to respond to a message for business purposes, have them leave the booth and have another member cover for them. 

Tell them not to have drinks or food sitting in the booth either. You want to create a positive impression for those who are walking by. It’s also a good idea to have branded clothing and have your team wear them at the event. 

Have Free Snacks

Since those attending trade shows will be doing a lot of walking, it’s a good idea to entice them by having free snacks or drinks. People love candy, popcorn, and drinks. You can even have snacks within branded items that have your company’s information.
