Blue Lizard Kids Sunscreen: We Got Some & Loved It!

As parents, we’d always struggled to get our kids on board with the idea of putting on sunscreen, as all they seemed to want to do is get out and play. We knew we couldn’t ignore it – as who wants to see their kids suffering from sunburn, right? We didn’t think it would ever get better, that is until a friend of the family recommended Blue Lizard kids sunscreen

There are a bunch of reasons why we now love their products for our kids. Here’s where the mineral sunscreen they offer excels in our humble opinion.

It Works Straight Away!

The main reason why we had trouble protecting our kids from the sun is that they would wriggle and complain. They would just do their best to get out of having it applied and when we did finally manage to get it done, they wouldn’t be happy about waiting half an hour for their chemical sun cream to absorb properly.

The immediate difference we saw with Blue Lizard kids sunscreen was that it works right away – due to being mineral based – and while it’s not quite as easy to apply, we could let them go out and play right away. An immediate improvement, based on that fact alone.

It’s Not Messy – So No Stinging Eyes

Another great thing about their mineral sunscreen is that it’s got a completely different consistency to chemical products, so we don’t get tears any more when it ends up splashing in their eyes. We also use much less of it, as it only takes a few spots to cover a large area, meaning it lasts much longer and costs us less money as well.

We also got a great mineral spray to complement it, which makes it even easier to get them covered. They’ve started putting it on by themselves now that they’re a little older, but they often miss areas and the spray allows us to easily cover the gaps.

Blue Lizard Kids Sunscreen Is Planet-Friendly Too!

The clincher for us was the fact that buying kids sunscreen like the products offered by Blue Lizard actively works to protect the planet. One day we’ll be dead and gone, but our kids will hopefully still be here long afterwards and we want the coral reefs to still be around for their kids.

After doing a little research, we found out that chemical sunscreens are destroying coral reefs around the world by bleaching them white. What’s that about? That’s because they contain ingredients like Oxybenzone and Octinoxate that damage coral, which we simply can’t let happen.

The great thing about mineral sunscreen is that it doesn’t use chemicals like these, rather they use things that occur in nature like zinc oxide and titanium oxide.

We’ll never go back to using chemical brands and after trying it, we’re pretty sure you won’t either. Thanks for reading our little blog and we hope that reading it makes protecting your kids against UV rays is that much easier for you.
