500-Word Essay Guide From Nerds

Writing is interesting but no less challenging task for many students. Luckily, there are many online services where students can find reliable educational help and learn to write academic texts. Reading other samples or ordering custom essays, students understand their subjects better and clearly deliver a message to readers. They write about cooperation experience on these services at special review websites so others can benefit from them too.

When you think about improving your writing style independently, you can read articles with tips to create engaging texts. Meanwhile, you can get even more spicy recommendations on our guide and use them to write a compelling essay yourself.

1. Never delay

Thinking you have a lot of time before the deadline is the biggest mistake for a student. Try to plan your time and dedicate it to writing as effectively as possible. If you think it is too early to create the first draft, come up with a topic, write a to-do list, find needed literature, and other helpful stuff, think about these actions as early as you can because it will significantly save your time during the writing procedure.

2. Always be curious

When you know your subject well, try to find more facts to include in your essay. Write down all exciting ideas that might arise in your head. Look for extra information not only from recommended sources but also from original literature, video blogs, or relevant online platforms.

3. Outline collected data

Getting ready for writing, you need to organize your information. When you have mixed up details during research, it is necessary to spread them out into several parts. Usually, the essay contains an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a summary section. Think about all of them in advance to place findings logically throughout your essay.

4. Introduce your topic

Write clearly about what you want to reveal in your essay from the very beginning. Start your introduction with a hook to interest readers in your topic. Then reveal the thesis statement. This is a universal tip both for science studies and humanities because this is the central idea of your essay. Finalize this paragraph with several key points of what methods you’ve used for research.

5. Reflect on evidence in body paragraphs

Every essay should have facts from other references to support your thesis statement. Start each body paragraph with a topic sentence, include a citation from an external source, and write your own viewpoint towards it.

6. Conclude shortly

The last paragraph is a summary of the whole essay. Just say what you’ve done and whether your research method is good enough to convince readers of your position. It is a popular recommendation not to add something new in the conclusion, so we avoid repeating it. 😉

7. Format correctly

Ask your teacher before writing an essay about necessary formatting guidelines. There are popular formatting styles such as MLA, Chicago, Harvard, and APA. Still, your tutor may ask you to follow specific school’s format to organize references list, in-text citations, and set margins with indents correctly.

8. Edit the whole project

Sit down to read your text from the beginning to the end. Also, you can try reading vice versa. It is said that this is a helpful exercise to notice flaws in your own easily.

9. Let someone check it

Ask for several peers’ responses to get objective suggestions on your essay. Someone can notice gaps in your text that you’ve accidentally omitted. Let your friend provide you a constructive critique, and don’t take it personally but just for the text’s improvement.

10. Rearrange if needed

Rewrite your essay and replace some parts or add new ones if you feel so. Rarely the first draft becomes a masterpiece, so don’t give up if you can’t make it instantly. Simplify sentences construction, complex definitions, and overwhelmed writing style.
